The Client is a state ambulance service with 296 response locations and approximately 3,000 paramedics.

Engagement Driver

Paramedics capture patient details on scene via an electronic Ambulance Report Form. The Client wanted to modernise the technology (hardware and software) the paramedics were using to improve user experience and data capture capability.

Intelligent Pathways Value

Intelligent Pathways was engaged to provide the end-to-end design, development, and integration of the patient care mobile solution. It is a native iOS application that is accessible to paramedics 24/7 via iPads. 

The application records data about the patient, clinical interventions and important observations from the scene e.g. in the case of a road accident the vehicle position of the patient is captured. This information is transferred to healthcare providers on handover of patients as well as being pushed to a data warehouse for predictive analysis.

Outcomes

The data captured in this application gives healthcare providers access to clinical information that enables seamless continuity of care of patients on handover at their facility. The data is also helping the Client with much broader decision making and planning by highlighting trends around the ‘health of the nation’ that allows optimal placement and resourcing of paramedics.
